One-woman show

Fey production in Association with Emerge Production House

A one-woman show 'Chickadee' is a truthful ride into the mind of a female street clown. In a world filled with tragedy and suffering, Chickadee's pure heart desires to bring joy and connection into people's lives. One day, she joins a TV Show at the Chickadee Studios and accidentally becomes famous and viral overnight as 'Chickadee the Sexy Clown'. She is heartbroken and misunderstood to be valued through her sexual appeal rather than her art of clowning.

The play consists of an insight of Chickadee's chaotic childhood that reveals why she chose to become a clown. At the same time we witness her facing acceptance in a pop-culture driven society, sexual abuse and toxic relationships. It is ultimately her unique approach to life and her attitude that fuel her passion for clowning.

'Chickadee' aims to give the message that despite the mess of life, life is beautiful and being a childlike clown could possibly save our hearts from shutting off.

It is a theatre piece that consists of elements of clowning and comedy, and dialogue, all used to create a raw performance.

THE REVIEWS HUB

“The show draws you in and provides a message that builds on, and goes beyond, the Marilyn myth, asking wider questions about identity, the loss of the inner clown and the need to hang on to it in a world that expects people to conform to stereotypes and sees success more in terms of money than happiness.”
